Beware of Macau Scam
Macau Scam is designed to trick and pressure you into handing over your money to the scammers. These scammers will disguise themselves as Bank Officer, Police Officer, or Government Officials and contact the victims via phone call, message (SMS) or social media messenger application.
Scammers will accuse victim with various kinds of offences such as outstanding tax arrears, involvement in illegal activities, crimial investigation, unauthorised use of credit card transactions, or speeding fine etc.
Scammers will then request for information related to your financial account details, online banking login details, Private Authentication Code (PAC), Token Authentication Code (TAC) and One Time Password (OTP) to assist in the investigation. Scammers will threaten the victim with court action, arrest of freezing bank account if the victim refuses to comply with their demand.
STAY ALERT and BE VIGILANT!
NEVER share your personal information such as Online Banking details, Debit/Credit Card details, Personal Authentication Code (PAC), Token Authentication Code (TAC) and One Time Password (OTP) with anyone.
Contact Bank immediately to freeze your banking account or Debit/Credit Cards to avoid suffering bigger losses and you must make a Police report to the nearest Police Station.
