Macau Scam is designed to trick and pressure you into handing over your money to the scammers. These scammers will disguise themselves as Bank Officer, Police Officer, or Government Officials and contact the victims via phone call, message (SMS) or social media messenger application. Scammers will accuse victim with various kinds of offences such as outstanding tax arrears, involvement in illegal activities, crimial investigation, unauthorised use of credit card transactions, or speeding fine etc. Scammers will then request for information related to your financial account details, online banking login details, Private Authentication Code (PAC), Token Authentication Code (TAC) and One Time Password (OTP) to assist in the investigation. Beware of Fake Advertisement on Social Media

Fake advertisements on social media platforms are designed to steal victim's banking account details or money. These fake advertisements are targeting victims who have searched for specific products and/or services (i.e. cleaning service, air-conditioning service, robotic vacuum cleaner etc.) Once the victims click on the fake advertisement, it will redirect them to fake website which will require victim install malicious software and/or to enter their online banking login details The information will then be captured by the scammers to gain access to victim's internet banking account and subsequently transfer all the fund from victim's account to third party account. This eventually has lead to severe monetary losses to victims. STAY ALERT and BE VIGILANT!
